Maintenance Mechanic 4 (MM4 Locksmith Clallam Bay Corrections Center
Full Time Permanent

Location: Clallam Bay WA

Salary Range: $6785 $7869


The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Maintenance Mechanic 4 at Clallam Bay Corrections Center.

Clallam Bay Corrections Center is a 900bed male facility located on the point of the Olympic Peninsula. It is 50 miles west of Port Angeles and looks out over the Strait of Juan de Fuca at Vancouver Island. This facility houses medium and close custody incarcerated individuals. CBCC also operates a Restricted Housing Unit.

Whether the work is inside a prison in community corrections or incarcerated individuals can learn to make choices that contribute to a safer society.



Duties

Typical duties of aMaintenance Mechanic 4 Locksmithinclude but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the oversight and preventative maintenance and management of keying and locking systems as well as associated mechanics throughout the facility.
  • Review Service Requests and Preventative Maintenance Requests inspect and determine the need for repair/replacement scope of work and materials parts needed and order.
  • Perform skilled locksmith work including maintenance and repairs of cores cylinders keys and key management systems.
  • Make and issue keys pin cores using and maintaining core and cylinder pinning equipment key duplicating machines code cutting key machines drill press and any hand and power tools required for accomplishing work.
  • Perform a variety of duties in skilled locking systems repair and installation work to include machining parts welding and electronic entry and door positioning lock systems and gate locking systems.
  • Read plans and electrical schematics to ensure proper completion and compliance with in local and state codes.
  • Perform emergency keying and opening services on locks and safes.
  • Maintain multiple key systems that are maintained in a computerized key control inventory program.
  • Maintain perpetual inventories of all keys and equipment.
  • Maintain an inventory of all inactive keys key blanks and key machines.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND
  • Possession of a valid Drivers License AND
  • Three 3 years work experience in a mechanical tradeorjourney level standing as a locksmith
  • OR certification of completion of an advanced technical course from an accredited vocational/technical school or community college AND two years of mechanical experience.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications.
