Other Conditions: Appointment to begin approximately August 2025 pending position clearance and availability of funding.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses within the major and GE
- Offer undergraduate courses in American Politics (survey and area of specialization)
- Contribute to political science program courses in Research Methods Introductory Political
- Science and/or Seminar in Political Science
- Contribute to International Politics Certificate
- Maintain an active agenda of scholarly research and publication
- Participate in service work and fulfill other duties assigned by the department chair
- Serve on appropriate department college and university committees and contribute to department activities
- Advising of students
Minimum Qualifications
- A Ph.D. from an accredited college or university in Political Science Politics or Government with specialization in American Politics and comparative governing institutions and political processes
- Documented excellence of college teaching courses in American Politics and comparative governing institutions and political processes
- Ability to teach courses in Research Methods
- At least one peerreviewed publication in the field of American Politics and/or comparative governing institutions and political processes.
- Demonstrated quality research productivity in the field of American Politics and comparative governing institutions and political processes
- Experience in teaching Introductory American Politics
- Experience in teaching Introductory Political Science
- Experience in teaching courses in Research Methods Experience in teaching
- Advising or counseling in a multicultural setting
- Experience with high impact practices such as service learning learning communities research with faculty internships study abroad and culminating senior experiences
