OVERVIEW
Portland Rescue Mission is seeking a Womens Recovery Growth Leader to serve in its New Life recovery program at Shepherds Door. This gifted servant will personify wise and compassionate counsel as they guide individuals into freedom from addiction alongside a Christcentered team with an awardwinning culture and a commitment to serving others.

    THE POSITION
    The Womens Recovery Growth Leader will have the opportunity to serve new program participants who are entering the Discovery phase (the first 5 weeks of our residential yearlong program) by overseeing the delivery of case management and addictions recovery program components carrying a case load of up to 12 women. This person will cultivate transformed lives by equipping the Shepherds Door community for effective addictions recovery relapse prevention and indepth growth.     THE PLACE
    Shepherds Door Portland Rescue Missions womens facility is set in a retreatlike setting located in East Portland designed specifically to support the transformation and growth of women and women with children impacted by homelessness and addiction. This 42000 square foot facility has the capacity to serve 42 adults and 25 children.

    THE ESSENTIALS

    • Oversee develop and coordinate the growth of Discovery program participants (up to 12 women who are in their first 5 weeks of recovery) through weekly oneonones and other interactions integrating addictions recovery spiritual formation and life skills training
    • Clearly communicate and coordinate with other Shepherds Door staff about each participant through regular database documentation (including DAP case notes) and staff meetings so that the staff team can work together to provide healing and growth
    • Regularly communicate with volunteer mentors and sponsors to support each participants spiritual recovery and relational growth
    • Equip and train participants towards a peertopeer ministry environment
    • Utilize the Bible to support recovery healing and growth so participants develop the ability to apply it to daily living
    • Support participants to become embedded in a partner church resulting in supportive community accountability discipleship and service involvement
    • Teach and lead curriculum classes and groups for all participants at Shepherds Door according to the needs of the program

    BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • A passionate relationship with Jesus Christ and a testimony of continued growth in faith
    • Alcohol/drug certification (CADC 1 or higher) required
    • Excellent knowledge of Christian spiritual formation chemical dependency addiction recovery and counseling specific to relapse prevention
    • A personal ethos and work ethic that reflects Portland Rescue Missions ministry culture Highly Relational ChristCentered Joyful Servant
    • A calling to serve women impacted by homelessness and addiction
    • Passionate and skilled in discerning and coaching women to success in Christian discipleship and addictions recovery
    • Proficient in communication documentation organization scheduling and group and classroom participation
    • Agreement with Portland Rescue Missions Statement of Faith and Code of Ethics
