Job Description

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Faculty Development Program Director is responsible for designing implementing and evaluating professional development programs that enhance teaching effectiveness and support the professional growth of fulltime and adjunct faculty at Kirkwood Community College. This position serves as a catalyst for educational innovation pedagogical excellence and the development of inclusive teaching practices.
The typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with possibility for flexibility.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and facilitate workshops seminars ondemand resources and learning communities focused on evidencebased teaching methods assessment strategies and educational technologies
- Provide leadership for major professional development events at the College including Collaborative Learning Day and Professional Development Day etc.
- Create and manage a comprehensive onboarding program for new fulltime and adjunct faculty members
- Develop mentorship initiatives that connect experienced faculty with earlycareer instructors
- Collaborate with academic departments to identify and address specific faculty development needs
- Coordinate activities of a group of Faculty Fellows
- Evaluate the effectiveness of faculty development programs and use data to guide improvements
- Establish and maintain a digital resource library of teaching materials and professional development resources
- Stay current with research and best practices in teaching and learning in higher education
- Provide individual consultations to faculty seeking to enhance their teaching practices

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:
Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional 1033 standing pushing pulling and grasping. Frequent 3466 reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant 67100 sitting walking repetitive motion talking and hearing. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters degree required in education instructional design or related field
- Minimum of 35 years teaching experience in higher education preferably at a community college
- Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory and evidencebased teaching practices
- Experience designing and facilitating professional development programs
- Strong understanding of the unique mission and student population of community colleges
- Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across academic departments and institutional divisions
- Experience with learning management systems and educational technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of outcomes assessment and program evaluation methods
- Background in online and hybrid course design
- Record of scholarship related to teaching and learning in higher education
