Job Description
- Lead the anesthesia team in providing efficient and effective care for oncology patients in the ICU.
- Assess patients preoperatively to develop appropriate anesthesia care plans.
- Provide anesthesia services for surgery and nonsurgical oncology procedures.
- Monitor patients intraoperatively and in the ICU to manage anesthesiarelated complications.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons oncologists and other medical professionals to promote comprehensive patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families about anesthesia and procedural risks.
- Ensure the implementation of safety protocols within the ICU and anesthesia practice.
- Participate in critical incident reviews and quality improvement initiatives.
- Train and mentor junior anesthesia staff and residents in clinical practice and procedures.
- Engage in ongoing education and remain current with evolving anesthesia best practices.
- Lead research initiatives aimed at improving anesthesia care in oncology patients.
- Develop and review clinical protocols related to anesthesia in the oncology field.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the operational goals of the ICU.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of patient care and anesthesia management.
- Coordinate with nursing and support staff to ensure optimal patient care delivery.
- MD/DNB in Anesthesia or equivalent degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in ICU and anesthesia.
- Specialized training or fellowship in oncology anesthesia preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced anesthesia techniques.
- Proven experience in critical care management.
- Strong understanding of oncology treatments and their anesthetic implications.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Active medical license in the relevant state or region.
- Board certification in Anesthesia.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and healthcare software.
- Research experience in the field of anesthesiology or oncology is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Ability to work in a highstress and fastpaced environment.
