Position: Child Care Solicitor
Location: Blackburn


Salary: Competitive DOE
13 years PQE:per annum
35 years PQE:per annum
510 years PQE:per annum

We are partnering with a leading law firm in Blackburnto support their search for a committed and experienced Child Care Solicitor to join their expanding team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to provide expert legal services to a diverse client base including parents grandparents interveners and children through CAFCASSappointed Guardians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Caseload Management: Manage a wide range of Child Care cases including Legal Aid CCMS procedures Care Orders and Adoption Orders independently.
  • Client Interaction: Offer advice and support to clients handling sensitive and complex issues with professionalism.
  • Court Preparation: Prepare for court appearances by assembling court bundles instructing counsel and conducting advocacy when required.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and guide solicitors trainee solicitors and caseworkers/paralegals ensuring the team delivers highquality legal services.
  • Business Development: Participate in marketing and networking activities to promote the firm and generate new business opportunities.
  • Document Drafting: Draft legal documents including witness statements applications and other courtrelated materials.
  • Client Care: Deliver exceptional client care particularly in cases involving vulnerable clients and children.
  • CrossFunctional Expertise: Leverage knowledge of related Family Law practices to provide comprehensive legal advice.

Performance Measures:

  • Manager/client satisfaction.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Quality of drafted work and adherence to legal deadlines.
  • Achievement of time recording and cost/fee targets.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience: 110 years PQE in Child Care Law with extensive experience handling varied Child Care cases.
  • Qualifications: Accredited with the Law Society Children Panel and holding a clean valid Practising Certificate.
  • Skills: Strong advocacy skills excellent client care and a proactive approach to case management.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with legal case management systems and strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and networking skills with a commitment to high standards of client care and team collaboration.
  • Flexibility: Ability to thrive in a fastpaced environment and adapt to the needs of clients and colleagues.
