Position: Child Care Solicitor
Location: Blackburn
Salary: Competitive DOE
13 years PQE:per annum
35 years PQE:per annum
510 years PQE:per annum
We are partnering with a leading law firm in Blackburnto support their search for a committed and experienced Child Care Solicitor to join their expanding team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to provide expert legal services to a diverse client base including parents grandparents interveners and children through CAFCASSappointed Guardians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Caseload Management: Manage a wide range of Child Care cases including Legal Aid CCMS procedures Care Orders and Adoption Orders independently.
- Client Interaction: Offer advice and support to clients handling sensitive and complex issues with professionalism.
- Court Preparation: Prepare for court appearances by assembling court bundles instructing counsel and conducting advocacy when required.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and guide solicitors trainee solicitors and caseworkers/paralegals ensuring the team delivers highquality legal services.
- Business Development: Participate in marketing and networking activities to promote the firm and generate new business opportunities.
- Document Drafting: Draft legal documents including witness statements applications and other courtrelated materials.
- Client Care: Deliver exceptional client care particularly in cases involving vulnerable clients and children.
- CrossFunctional Expertise: Leverage knowledge of related Family Law practices to provide comprehensive legal advice.
Performance Measures:
- Manager/client satisfaction.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- Quality of drafted work and adherence to legal deadlines.
- Achievement of time recording and cost/fee targets.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience: 110 years PQE in Child Care Law with extensive experience handling varied Child Care cases.
- Qualifications: Accredited with the Law Society Children Panel and holding a clean valid Practising Certificate.
- Skills: Strong advocacy skills excellent client care and a proactive approach to case management.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with legal case management systems and strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and networking skills with a commitment to high standards of client care and team collaboration.
- Flexibility: Ability to thrive in a fastpaced environment and adapt to the needs of clients and colleagues.
