Student WorkerJob Description
The Student Hourly Assistant under general supervision will be responsible for completing genomics training and research projects. A faculty member MUST sponsor the student to participate in the GREAT program.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct genomics and mentored research.
- Attend scientific communications/journal club.
- Participate in development workshops.
- Attend scienceoriented events.
Required Education and Experience:
- Presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University for at least nine 9 graduate or six 6 undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.
- Must be in good academic standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA
- No prior experience necessary
- For work eligibility during a summer term a student must be enrolled for at least three 3 graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six 6 undergraduate semester hours for the fall/spring terms.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University for at least six 6 undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.
- Must be in good academic standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum of 3.0 GPA.
Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Scientific knowledge in biology
- Written & Verbal Communication
- Critical Thinking
Other Requirements:
- Must be sponsored by the GREAT Program (Collaborative Genomics Initiative Between PVAMU and TAMU).
