We have an opening for a Marjorie Susman Curatorial Fellow to support the Curatorial department at MCA Chicago. Reporting to the Deputy Director and Chief of Curatorial Affairs the Fellow assists the Deputy Director and Chief of Curatorial Affairs and Manilow Senior Curator with all aspects of exhibition programming and organization. They are also responsible for general research on artists and other special projects as assigned. To be successful in this role you will:
- Assist Deputy Director and Chief of Curatorial Affairs and Manilow Senior Curator in research and organization of exhibitions including: compiling informational packets on traveling exhibitions; preparing coordinating and monitoring loan agreements and forms; compiling bibliographies entries and photographic materials for catalogue preparation; and drafting wall texts and labels.
- Conduct general research on artists for collection committee meetings Emerge lectures and special projects as assigned.
- Write reports on possible acquisitions compile presentations and contact donors and lenders.
- Assist other Curators in facilitating and organizing programming for exhibitions as needed.
- Curate a collectionbased exhibition at the end of the 2year term.
QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- MA or MFA in Art History Art Curatorial Studies or Museum Studies or equivalent experience.
- Two years museum experience and/or research position at college or university level.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational and followthrough skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in an open and teamoriented environment.
- Ability to maintain a strict level of discretion judgment tact and diplomacy in all matters.
- Ability to work professionally and effectively with a variety of clients and stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
- Ability to perform occasional light lifting; general mobility throughout the museum.

This is a fulltime position with a Monday through Friday 9am5pm schedule that may include evenings and weekends as required by activity in the department. This position is eligible for hybrid work arrangement per the Remote Work Policy.
40 hours per week
