The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as instructors in a variety of fields. If you are excited about recreation and ready to share your expertise with the community we would love to hear from you!
Our instructors engage with a diverse community offering classes for all agesfrom preschoolers to seniors. Classes are conducted both indoors and outdoors and we are dedicated to creating a welcoming and safe environment for all participants.
Responsibilities:- Plan organize and instruct recreational programs or classes based on your expertise.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for participants of all ages and skill levels.
- Develop and implement engaging curriculum and activities to meet program goals.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants during classes or programs.
- Provide guidance feedback and support to participants to enhance their learning experience.

Qualifications:- Relevant experience and expertise in the subject matter you wish to instruct.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse participants.
- Passion for creating a positive and enjoyable learning experience.
Schedule:- Parttime with flexible hours based on program needs.
- Staff are typically scheduled between 2 to 29 hours per week from 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM throughout the week with opportunities to work on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Parttime employees have variable schedules and may work less than 1560 hours per year.
Positions:- Instructor I: No teaching experience required must love working with people of all ages and abilities; able to work inside and outside; and be at least 16 years of age.
- Instructor II: Must have at least 1 year of experience in leading and instructing general classes and be at least 16 years of age.
- Instructor III: Must have over 1 year of experience and specialized training in the assigned program area; and be 18 years of age. Valid drivers licenseand acceptable driving record may befor some positions.
- Instructor IV: Experience: Over two 2 years of experience in the specialty area AND Education/Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade plus additional specialized training equivalent to four years of college.

New Benefit Paid Time Off
Effective March 1 2024 a new paid leave for parttime Paid Time Off (PTO) will accrue at a rate of one 1 hour earned for every 30 hours worked. This is in addition to Sick leave and may be scheduled by employees for any reason!

THPRD is hiring for multiple roles with hours varying based on program needs.PartTime Variable (PT):Employeesgenerally workfewer than 20 hours per week and no more than 1560 hours annually.
PartTime Benefits (PTB) Eligible:Employees work 2029 hours per week yearround and are eligible for benefits.
