The Opportunity
The Marketing Manager role is part of the Brand Strategy & Content team. The portfolio includes a balance of Social & Brand campaigns.

Someone who gets the modern customer not only what they expect from brands but more importantly what they do not want from them. The perfect candidate isnt just familiar with these nuances but is also ready to translate that knowledge into fresh thinking that elevates our creative strategy and pushes the brand towards groundbreaking culturally inspired ideas.
Social:
- Set the tone for how we communicate with Canadians in our social channels to drive relevance engagement and brand affinity
- Work with agency teams and Social Supervisor to establish a content calendar to engage our online communities across platforms ensure that McDonalds maintains a consistent voice and strategic message
- Lead the development of socialfirst initiatives and identify key moments for our brand to participate in social cultural brand & trend opportunities that will drive our relevance
- Set & deliver goals for audience development engagement and new online communities
- Measure and monitor success of social media initiatives
- Keep up with the latest in trends and culture whether its attempting the latest TikTok sound for yourself or going deep into the internet to understand why something is trending
Impact:
- Work crossfunctionally within marketing and the impact team to identify and bring to life our role within community/culture
- Work closely with the External Communications team to protect and defend the McDonalds brand
- Provide oversight & consult on managing issues that arise in social ecosystems (partnering with guest relations legal and government affairs)
- Oversee robust social media monitoring program to identify risks competitive updates and potential issues for escalation
Brand:
- Manage the development and of key brand campaigns within the marketing calendar executing on the strategy utilizing consumer insights inspiring the agency to develop breakthrough creative that builds fandom build effective media plans and engage crossfunctional teams (Communications Legal Ops Supply Chain Menu)
- Campaign production & internal to bring big brand moments to life in media and in our restaurants
Qualifications :
- 57 years of experience managing social media & marketing for largescale consumer brand
- Bachelors degree in communications marketing or related discipline
- Deep understanding of social publishing monitoring & listening tools
- You love storytelling and can create ideate and uncover new angles or craft interesting stories
- You are adaptable and openminded and are comfortable with ambiguity.
- Demonstrated experience working on complex largescale and timecritical projects.
- Leveraging strong thinking agility you know when its appropriate to activate on a trend or observe from afar
