Job Description
Fashion designers create clothing accessories and footwear by combining their artistic and technical skills with market trends and consumer needs. They may work for fashion houses retailers or start their own brands.
Responsibilities
Research: Research trends in fabrics colors and styles
Design: Create sketches mood boards and prototypes
Select materials: Choose fabrics trims colors and patterns
Develop designs: Use computeraided design (CAD) software to create technical drawings
Collaborate: Work with other designers patternmakers and manufacturers
Manage production: Oversee the production process to ensure quality and alignment with the original vision
Market: Present designs to clients retailers and the public
Stay current: Keep up with industry trends and events
Skills
Creativity: Generate innovative designs that resonate with consumers
Attention to detail: Ensure that designs meet quality standards
Communication: Articulate design concepts clearly to clients colleagues and other team members
Collaboration: Work with others to bring designs to life
Adaptability: Be able to adjust designs to suit clients needs
