Your mission

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Design Managers to work on the design of the Sizewell C (SZC) nuclear powerplant as well as our future pipeline of projects. You will provide your expertise to successfully deliver our projects in collaboration with clients contractors stakeholders and our project teams.

Your key responsibilities

The key responsibilities will include a selection of the following points depending on your experience and the position you take within our team:

  • Leading project teams providing guidance and support to ensure projects are completed on time within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Developing and executing project plans including scope schedule cost risk management and communication plans.
  • Facilitating communication and coordination of information to stakeholders including project team members clients and senior management.
  • Supporting and mentoring members of the team to help them develop individually and to meet our collective goals.
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks.
  • Supporting our Contract Managers in the preparation of claims and variations.
  • Developing strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Supporting the engineering discipline leads to develop training plans and strategies for increasing our capability in the UK.

To be successful in this role the ideal candidate would meet the following requirements and criteria:

  • Bachelors or masters in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Design or Technical Management experience preferably for major projects in highly regulated industry e.g. nuclear.
  • Background demonstrating strong technical skills in your field of engineering with experience in delivery technical packages.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to identify and mitigate project risks.
