Job Description
The University of Tennessees Career Gateway is looking to fill the temporary assignment of Custodian with the University Housing. Through temporary assignment placements Career Gateway allows the opportunity to work with various departments while gaining valuable work experience. Each assignment has differing pay rates work schedules and lengths of assignments. The length of assignments is subject to change. Rate of pay: $15.00/hour
Responsibilities
General Public Area Cleaning: Clean public areas including but not limited to: lounges stairwells lobbies hallways recreation rooms laundry rooms and multipurpose rooms; Sweep mop vacuum strip/wax hard surface flooring. Perform carpet care and cleaning. Dust surfaces. Remove trash and recyclable material.
Restroom/Bathroom Cleaning: Clean and disinfect student/residential staff and public bathroom/restrooms.
Miscellaneous Duties: Unload supplies; Write up maintenance/custodial work orders. Move furniture. Install mattresses. Wash linens. Turnover guest apartments. Perform special event setup and takedown.
Exterior Grounds Keeping: Pickup and remove trash. flower beds. Clean concrete surfaces and walks. Remove snow and ice from walkways.
Minor Maintenance: Perform touchup painting. Replace baseboards. Repair custodial equipment. Replace light bulbs.** THIS POSITION REQUIRES AVAILABILITY FOR OVERTIME HOURS
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: Less than one year
