Job Description

Williams Mens Basketball is steeped in tradition and excellence having appeared in the Division III NCAA Tournament 20 times including 6 of the last 8 seasons. The program has advanced to 8 Final Fours 2 Elite Eights 4 Sweet 16s and won the NESCAC tournament 5 times. Our program is committed to helping our team achieve its highest potential while focusing on the holistic development of the studentathletes in a competitive and positive environment. Williams College invites applicants for a 2nd assistant coaching position with the Mens Basketball program. The salary for this position is $16888 and includes a full meal plan. This isa 40hour per week 20week position with the possibility of additional summer recruitment days.

Williams College located in Williamstown MA is a liberal arts institution and member of the competitive NCAA Division III New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). We strongly value the liberal arts experience and the balance of our studentathletes academic pursuits in addition to their athletic and extracurricular commitments.

This position reports directly to the head coach.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the head coach in practice and game planning and

  • Individual skill development

  • Film Breakdown and Analysis

  • Seasonal recruitment of StudentAthletes

  • Assist with planning team travel

  • OnCampus visit development

  • Social Media management

  • Equipment Management

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent and collegiate playing and/or coaching experience required

  • At least one year collegiate coaching experience preferred

  • Knowledge of NCAA Division III policies and strong interpersonal skills are preferred.

  • Experience and/or ability to recruit quality studentathletes in an academically demanding environment

  • Successful candidates will possess selfmotivation communication and organizational skills openness to learning new methods and a passion for coaching and mentorship of a diverse studentathlete population

  • Comfort with using social media as a tool to recruit and advertise for the Williams Mens Basketball brand

  • Valid drivers license is required
