Twoway immersion develops high levels of academic achievement bilingualism and cultural competencies among students and contributes to the longterm preparation of students for the global economy. Bringing culturally diverse students together in situations in which each has equal status spurs motivation and promotes cohesion community building and cooperation.
The Opportunity:
The PreKindergarten TwoWay teacher will provide instruction to students in Spanish 80 and English 20 within a selfcontained classroom. The successful candidate will collaborate with gradelevel cluster and wholeschool teams of teachers including specialists in ESL SSL and Special Education. This individual must plan and implement a curriculum that is academically and linguistically active developmentally appropriate and socially/culturally responsive to the needs of the dual language student population. They will have experience in planning implementing and adapting an ongoing curriculum that aligns with the Massachusetts State Frameworks and the local Cambridge Learning Expectations for CPP. Additionally they will work collaboratively with parents and guardians to involve them in classroom activities and schoolwide events. Other related duties as assigned.
