About the role

An exciting opportunity exists in our Cairns office for a fulltime Legal Secretary to join our busy Commercial team.

Working closely with a Special Counsel and Senior Conveyancersome of your duties will include:

  • Opening of new matters and closing and archiving of completed matters
  • Conducting conflict searches
  • Diary management and coordination of meetings
  • Telephone calls with clients other law firms and third parties
  • Drafting and amending correspondence and documents
  • Electronic and hard copy filing
  • Transcribing digital dictation
  • Monthly billing including invoicing and preparation of bills. Previous experience with Aderant / Expert Billing will be highly regarded
  • Assist with the conduct of conveyancing transactions as required for the property team in a predominantly electronic environment (including via PEXA)
  • Providing general support to the Special Counsel in the performance of their work in commercial transactions

About you

To be successful in this role you will be a Legal Secretarywith at least one year experience who thrives in a busyenvironment. Your ability to work cohesively in a team as well asautonomously will be valued as will your strong commitment tooutstanding customer service. We are looking for candidates whodemonstrate initiative and good judgement and have exceptionalorganisational skills and attention to detail. Previous experiencewith conveyancing and PEXA is highly regarded.
