Position Details:
As a Designer of Decor you will bring prior experience in the home dcor industry including decorative accessories tabletop wall dcor and gifts. The Designer is responsible for providing product ideas product design specs and sample refinement. The designer will be responsible for articulating the creative process and vision to the larger team. The ability to work across teams and remotely with the team is essential. The designer will work closely with the merchant team to help bring product ideas to life. This is an opportunity to have a big impact on a growing brand.
Responsibilities:
- Execute of creative deliverables including product ideation product design specs and sample refinement
- Own projects and collaborate closely with merchant team to meet deadlines
- Research trends and help identify white space opportunities
- Translate knowledge of brand specific and marketplace trends into profitable designs
- Deliver effective cohesive product presentations for both internal and external partners
- Work cross functionally with our merchant team sales teams and overseas partners
- Ability to communicate technique and manufacturing abilities to all members of the team
- Act as the internal creative lead for key account custom projects/programs
- Contribute to productive discovery meetings collaborating with sales teams to develop product solutions
- Design within project and brand specific creative direction aesthetic values and stated marketing strategies
- Ensure designs meet quality and safety standards
- Manage traffic of multiple projects of varying complexity
- Ensure all projects are completed on time
- Contribute to crossfunctional team brainstorms
- Collaborate with crossfunctional team members throughout the design process
- Promote a team atmosphere within the design area and among other crossfunctional areas of the company

Requirements
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Design Illustration Industrial Design or similar field
- 510 years related experience in home Dcor Pets Baby etc. product design
- Fluent in Illustrator and Photoshop
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (needs to know how to use PowerPoint)
- Exceptional portfolio with demonstrated home dcor product experience
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work on tight timelines
- Must have a portfolio that can be reviewed
- This job is onsite. However there may be some flexibility on days to work from home.
- Offices are located in Kansas City and Minneapolis Travel may be required up to 25
