Job Description

Introduction

Manager Procurement Operations (Financial Services)

Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged candidates.

Location: Pretoria Gauteng

An esteemed South African financial services group requires the services of a Manager Procurement Operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Position Overview:

The main purpose of this position is to provide managerial leadership and direction to the tactical buying procurement administration and travel teams within the Procurement Division of the group and its subsidiaries.

This a permanent position reporting to the Divisional Head: Procurement.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Develop and implement sectional operational plans.
  • Lead and manage daytoday operations of the section including travel services procurement service desk tactical buying and vendor and catalogue master data management.
  • Analyse and integrate management information.
  • Manage the procurement of goods and services in accordance with the Procurement Policy and relevant guidelines ensuring good governance.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of the delivery and functioning of the operations section within the procurement division.
  • Manage all tactical buying and travel related risks.
  • Analyse spend and demand in order to formulate and implement tactical category strategy.
  • Collaborate and liaise with the Legal Services Department (LSD) for the reviewing and administering of contracts.
  • Collaborate and liaise with the strategic sourcing and governance sections.
  • Manage the performance and development of staff in the section.

Desired Experience & Qualification

To be considered for this position one must have:

  • Registered as a Chartered Accountant of South Africa CA(SA) and/or the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
  • A completed Honours degree (NQF 8 in Commerce or Supply Chain Management or an equivalent qualification is essential.
  • A minimum of 810 years of experience in a Procurement Operations Environment of which at least 23 years should have been in a Management Capacity.
