Job Description
Job: Senior Financial Analyst
Classification: Salaried/Exempt
Job Category: 2 Professionals
FLSA Category: Administrative Exemption
Position Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst designs financial projections and business plans performs analytics to support revenue and expense management and partners with leadership to develop the annual budget. The Senior Financial Analyst also prepares and coordinates the distribution of various financial reports and analyses on a regular and ad hoc basis. The Senior Financial Analyst takes the initiative to lead improvement projects to help drive financial results by providing clinical and operational leaders data driven insights around cost and practice patterns.
Essential Functions
Drives the preparation and concurrent review of the annual budget and forecasts.
Reviews and analyzes departmental budget performance.
Designs and/or improves enhanced financial reports and analyses for management to improve departmental performance.
Partners with department managers and senior leadership to perform financial and business analyses of key initiatives; determine ROI and make recommendations accordingly.
Proactively addresses challenges by identifying and monitoring business trends and variances.
Conducts revenue and expense analytics.
Assists with financial proforma and modeling for new programs as well as ongoing monitoring of existing programs.
Performs ad hoc financial analysis to support key business decisions.
Identifies and leads special projects as needed including managing the work driving the right analyses and presenting results to leadership.
Provides financial leadership and education to department managers.
Works closely with other members of the Finance IT Materials Management Nursing Patient accounting and Human Resource Departments and must be able to maintain productive working relationships with all other ancillary departments as required.
Assists with various government filings and audits.
Exhibits integrity and confidentiality in dealing with information which can be sensitive in nature including information which may fall under HIPAA regulations.
Detailoriented and analytical skills preferred.
Position must be able to retain composure under stress.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Work Experience
Previous healthcare operations experience strongly preferred.
Previous budgeting/planning/monthly variance analysis experience preferred.
Five years of experience in accounting finance or related field preferred.
Knowledge of Decision Support/Cost Accounting Systems preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office specifically Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word preferred.
Education
Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance or related field required.
Masters degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred.
