Accessibility Coordinator
In this role you will support the Citys compliance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by assisting in policy implementation accessibility improvements and stakeholder engagement. You will work with City staff and the public to promote inclusive practices and remove barriers for individuals with disabilities.As an Accessibility Coordinator you will help ensure equal access to City programs services and facilities while providing guidance on ADA requirements.
This Job Includes:
Compliance & Policy Implementation
Participate in the Citys Title II ADA Compliance Committee by providing regulatory updates policy recommendations and analysis of potential impacts on City operations.
Assist with ADA selfevaluations and collect data for the Citys ADA Transition Plan to track and improve accessibility efforts.
Conduct facility surveys to assess physical accessibility and recommend improvements.
Assist City departments in eliminating physical and policy barriers by ensuring accessibility requirements are integrated into facility designs operational policies and public communications.
Participate in the Citys ADA grievance process investigating and resolving concerns related to Title II compliance.
Review and determine requests for ADA accommodations from citizens interacting with City programs and services
Project & Budget Oversight
Assist with the management and oversight of ADArelated design and construction projects coordinating with City personnel and contractors to ensure compliance.
Perform onsite visits with project managers and contractors to monitor accessibility modifications and conduct final inspections to confirm compliance with federal regulations.
Assist in budget planning for accessibility improvements including funding recommendations for facility modifications and equipment purchases.
Prepare contract documents such as Requests for Proposals (RFPs) review bid specifications and monitor project budgets to ensure ADA compliance.
Community Engagement & Technical Assistance
Provide technical guidance to City departments and external stakeholders on ADA requirements.
Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations representing people with disabilities to foster collaboration and advocacy.
Participate in public outreach efforts attend stakeholder meetings and serve as an accessibility resource for City programs and initiatives.

Knowledge Of:
ADA Title II regulations and other federal state and local accessibility laws.
Facility and program accessibility standards including best practices for barrier removal.
Project management principles including budget development and contractor coordination.
Community engagement strategies to support inclusive government services.
Ability To:
Interpret and apply ADA requirements to a variety of City programs and operations.
Communicate complex accessibility guidelines effectively to staff contractors and the public.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal departments and diverse community partners.
Track and analyze data to support accessibility planning and compliance monitoring.
Education:Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in public administration business administration or a related field
Experience:Three years of fulltime professional experience in ADA Title II complianceaccessibility planning or accommodation programs related to Title II of the ADA.
Possess or obtain upon hire a nonprobationary drivers license not subject to restrictions related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges

Physical Demads:Occasionally this position requires the ability to spend multiple hours at City properties measuring and documenting findings for ADA compliance. This position will also require the ability to transport equipment weighing no more than 20 lbs to sites throughout the city.
