Job Description

Summary/Objective

Ensure efficient operation of the Speech teletherapy services by providing instructional and clerical support under the supervision of the Speech Language Pathologist and Special Education Director. The Paraeducator works with students who have been identified as having a speech need. This position exists to support student achievement in speech and language services.

Essential Functions

  1. Respond to all internal and external customers as it relates to the job in a prompt efficient friendly and patient manner
  2. Coordinate teletherapy services with school site and speech language pathologist.
  3. Copy collate and file worksheets and requested documents
  4. Operate and care for equipment used for instructional purposes
  5. Provide general clerical support to speech therapists
  6. Prepare materials for therapy as request by therapists
  7. Work with small groups on speech interventions under the guidance of the speech language pathologist
  8. Maintain the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer employed
  9. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all policies regulations and rules
  10. Perform related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands

  1. Regularly required to see talk and hear
  2. Regularly climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl
  3. Regularly reach with hands and arms
  4. Occasionally lift push and/or move up to 50 pounds

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

AtWill Notice of Employment does not provide a guarantee of a particular schedule of work or a minimum number of days or hours.

Thisis a 9month 30hour per week position is eligible for medical benefits. The employee will work 7.5hours per day Monday through Thursday during core business hours.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. AA degree 60 college credits from an accredited university or satisfactory results on an Arizona stateapproved competency exam (ParaPro)

Preferred Education and Experience

Experience working with students or children.

Required Certifications/Licenses

May require First Aid/CPR certification and/or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
