Hiring Opportunity: Indianapolis IN
Our client is looking to hire a safety specialist to assist with their project just outside of Indianapolis! Our client is a family owned company that has been in business going on just over 80 years specializing in both private and public sector construction projects. They have an incredible culture with the average tenure being 11 years.
The Safety Specialist will ensure a safe and healthy work environment on construction sites by identifying and mitigating hazards enforcing safety regulations and providing training to employees
Qualified candidates will be required to have at least 12 years of experience and an OSHA 30 certification.
Responsibilities:
Conduct regular inspections of worksites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Investigate accidents and nearmiss incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective actions.
Provide safety training to employees on safe work practices hazard recognition and emergency procedures.
Assist in the development and implementation of safety programs policies and procedures.
Stay uptodate on relevant safety regulations (e.g. OSHA) and ensure compliance on all projects.
Communicate safety concerns to management and employees and document safety inspections incidents and training activities.
Identify and assess risks develop risk mitigation strategies and implement safety controls to protect workers.
Work with project managers supervisors and subcontractors to promote a safe work environment.
Requirements:
At least 12 years of safety experience with construction.
OSHA 30 (required)
Commutable distance to the project just north of Indianapolis by about 20 miles
