Job Description
As Account Director Scientific Communications you will provide counsel to internal teams and clients on using scientific information/clinical data to define communications strategies and craft accurate and creative stories that resonate with key audiences including media healthcare professionals (HCPs) and consumers. You will take the lead in creating content tailored to each of these audiences including press releases social content web site copy and sponsored articles; medical affairs scientific platforms slide kits peer reviewed articles and booth content for medical key responsibilities include performing research and educating internal teams on the scientific landscape and differentiation of devices and health services for existing clients and new business development; providing counsel on navigating issues related to data; and working directly with scientists and other client personnel to develop and articulate science and datarelated key messages/stories.
Required Skills/Attributes
- Ability to summarize and translate technical information/data accurately and creatively for multiple audiences
- Strong writer with an interest in creative solutions
- Outstanding communications skills (verbal written and presentation)
- Fast learner
- Proficiency in sculpting and telling a cohesive story

- An ability to multitask and an interest in tackling a variety of projects concurrently

Credentials/experience
- MSc or PhD in life sciences PharmD or equivalent
- 68 years of experience working for a PR/integrated comms company or inhouse in the communications department of a university research institute scientific publication or pharma/biotech company
- Demonstrated experience with social content creation for research organizations

Chicago Salary range: $115000 $140000
Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on among other factors actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employees/applicants background pertinent experience and qualifications.
