Position Title: Middle School(78)Special EducationTeacher (Anticipated vacancy)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut State Department of Education certification for Special Education(165 or 065.
- Degree from an accredited college or university inSpanish.
Reports to:Building Principal and/or designee
Evaluator:Building Principal and/or designee
Compensation:In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.
Work Year:In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.
Responsibilities:TheSpecial Education Teacher has the followingresponsibilities as listed below and other duties and responsibilities as shall be assigned by theBuilding Principal and/or designee:
- Provides comprehensive case management planning and providing instruction directly to students requiring social emotional and behavioral support.
- Provides training support and guidance to a team of para educators; coteaches; communicates and collaborates with teachers and families.
- Implements IEP and leads PPT processes
- Other responsibilities as defined by the building principal or designee.
