Job Description:
Ensure the safety of Campers and Camp Activities in accordance with the UToledo Emergency Action Plan.
Inspect all Kids Camp equipment and facilities report all unsafe conditions and/or equipment to the Kids Camp Student Specialist or Coordinator of Intramural Sports & Youth Camps or Building Supervisor.
Be able to assist in daytoday camp activities planned for about 80 campers a week.
Assist onshift Lifeguards with supervision and safety of campers while in the natatorium.
Assist with the chaperoning of campers on all weekly off campus field trips.
Assist with the management and enforcement of the camp disciplinary policy and procedures.
Attend and participate in all trainings and meetings within employee group and department wide including mandatory Kids Camp Counselor Training: May 20th June 3rd 2024.
Be receptive to professional and personal development.
Balance time commitments.
Recognize limitations and work to improve.
Function as a contributing member of the UToledo Recreational Services team
Champion and model the Office of Recreational Services mission vision and values.

All Other Duties as assigned by the UToledo Recreational Services Professional Staff or The Division of Student Affairs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have and maintain current American Red Cross BLS CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. If hired offered free through the rec center. Dates TBA at a later time.
Must clear a criminal background check to work with minors of 512 years old).
Must attend all UToledo compliance trainings and new employee department and employee group trainings. Must attend Counselor Training 5/196/2
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred degree related to early education and development or similar to.
