Our AwardWinning Trading Standards team is looking for an experienced and dynamic officer to join our small but busy team.
This role is for officers who meet the criteria for grade PO1 and above and requires both collaborative and flexible working. Our officers work predominantly from home and in the borough and from our Hammersmith office when needed. Sound judgement and decision making are key as well as the need to apply critical thinking and innovation to help shape service delivery and to deliver positive outcomes for residents businesses and consumers. The work is varied providing opportunities to lead and focus on key Trading Standards priorities locally regionally and nationally.
Your Trading Standards knowledge experience and problemsolving skills will be needed to investigate cases conduct inspections advise businesses and to lead on local and regional projects. You will have the opportunity to carry out work related to product safety age restricted products fair trading doorstep crime lettings and licensing. Senior officers will be expected to mentor junior officers within the team. With the right skills experience and attitude you will have the opportunity for career development and progression and be supported with obtaining and maintaining Chartered Trading Standards Practitioner status.

You will need to hold either the Diploma in Trading Standards (DTS) the Diploma in Consumer Affairs and Trading Standards (DCATS) or an equivalent professional qualification with experience within Trading Standards.
