Job Description

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university required
  2. Successful experience with project management and budget analysis preferred
  3. Experience with DoDEA grant writing and militaryconnected student programs preferred
  4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Reports To: Federal Programs Coordinator

Background CheckRequired:(Ala. Code 1622A5 Upon offer of employment employees will be required to submit legible fingerprints for a background review by the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Background checks must not be more than ten 10 years old.

11. Ability to use effective collaberation skills for the successful implementation of grant programs assessment programs and maintain productive relationships with colleagues

12. Creative selfstarter sttitude and ability to work independently under miimal guidance as well as in a team enviroment

13. Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet highstakes deadlines

14. Excellent project and time management skills flexibility with job duties and the ability to think strategically and programmatically

15. Ability to manage and support strategic and operational goals of the system in areas or responsibility

16. Ability to manage budgets and support curriculum and programming specific to the needs of students

17. Ability to identify and solve problems as a productive team member

18. Ability to use technology to communicate manage data and produce/submit required reports correspondence and/or financial information

19. Support for the values of education philosophy vision and the mission of Madison City Schools

20. Physical mobility and visual acuity to investigate personnel problems at onsite work locations

21. Knowledge of curriculum development effective classroom practices and staff development principles

22. Basic understanding of scientificallybased strategies and instruction

23. High proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite tools especially Word Excel Google Docs and Google Sheets for poject management

25. Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; physical agility to lift 2550 pounds; to bend to stoop to sit on the floor to climb stairs to walk and to reach overhead.

Essential Functions:

  1. Manages grants as a grant administrator responsible for grant implementation
  2. Develops and maintians a grant application calendar of all grant requests
  3. Assists in the grant planning recruitment or personnel in the program and implementation of the grant
  4. Keeps abreast of governmental statutes regulations and rules relating to grant programs and administration and advise interested parties of the provisions of the law
  5. Coordinates receipt of awards and contract documentation; maintains proposal and funding records in database systems and prepares scheduled and special reports
  6. Performs various general grant administration functions such as billings budget amendments plan changes program evaluations etc
  7. Provides ongoing monitoring of grant budgets and expenditures to ensure targets are met
  8. Provides ongoing monitoring of grant program goals and monthly performance
  9. Manages and analyzes data for grant reports to monitor compliance and implementation
  10. Communicates relevant grant information with all appropriate internal and external stakeholders
  11. Attends meetings (e.g. intervention meetings parent meetings stuent meetings etc) for the purpose of collaborating problem solving and gathering and disseminating information
  12. Maintains close working relationships with community and appropriate agencies in order to support current grants and militaryconnected students
  13. Supports processes and communication to ensure DoDEA grants sustainability
  14. Writes and submits DoDEA grant applications and reports on behalf of Madison City Schools
  15. Leads preparation collection and reporting of the annual federal Impact Aid Survey under guidance of the federal programs coordinator
  16. Works with the appropriate instruction department staff to continuously support district programs to achieve the established goals
  17. Maintains current knowledge of all pertinent rules and regulations affecting federal DoDEA grants
  18. Serves as a district point of contact for all district militaryconnected programs and facilitates militaryconnected events to support military families
  19. Facilitates militaryconnected program training
  20. Supports schools and district in maintaining the Purple Star Program distinction
  21. Maintains appropriate confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters
  22. Coordinates with instruction department and facilitates activities to support implementation of the NBCT program at the district level
  23. Participates and/or assists in special projects and performs associated administrative duties as assigned
  24. Engages in professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and effective project management
  25. Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities
  26. Performs other jobrelated assignments determined by superintendent or designee

  • This position will be subject to the Students First Act of 2011 (special program the funding and duration of which are finite). Madison City Schools reserves the right to fill this position by transfer of a qualified applicant who is already employed by Madison City Schools.
  • Under the Students First Act of 2011 no credit toward tenure or nonprobationary status is earned in the initial school year of employment if the date of hire occurs after September

Expected Employment: 240 days (full year)

Evaluation: According to established Board policies and administrative procedures and guidelines.
