Village School Instructional Learning SpecialistThe Village School (grades 46 is seeking an Instructional Learning Specialist (ILS) whose primary goal is to enhance student achievement by collaborating closely with teachers students and administrators. The ILS actively supports continuous school improvement analyzes assessment data provides (nonevaluative) feedback and offers professional development. The Instructional Learning Specialist also aids teachers in using data to drive instructional decisions and determine appropriate interventions and extensions based on student progress and needs. Working alongside the Principal Assistant Principal and staff the Instructional Learning Specialist contributes to achieving educator goals and improving student FunctionsWorks with Teachers and Students:Supports in the development and implementation of intervention and enrichment for studentsCollect and analyze data on classroom environment instruction and student engagement to help teachers identify areas of need Conduct Instructional planning conferences based on student progress data Facilitate and participate in learning walks peer observations guide feedback discussions and offer productive (nonevaluative) feedback Effectively coteach and model inclass lessons using researchbased instructional practices Partners with teachers in the implementation of WIN and other district based curriculum initiativesOffer ongoing training and coaching to build classroom instruction intervention and enrichment opportunitiesProvide ongoing training and coaching to Instructional Assistants in Interventions and Enrichment Works with Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to:Collaborate with teachers and administrators to establish measurable datadriven goals that target areas for improvement and ensure continuous meaningful collaboration within PLCs fostering a culture of shared knowledge and expertise to enhance teaching to develop and refine professional learning communities focusing on academic challenges and aligning with districtwide initiativesWorks directly with administration to:Build collaborative capacity in schools by creating systems that encourage teachers to work together fostering a positive culture and growth mindsetWork directly with administration and district level personnel to facilitate the effective implementation of the School Improvement PlanServe on committees and work on projects related to instructional practicesWork with Principal/Assistant Principal to lead the Teacher Assistance Team supporting teachers and students with Tier 12 InterventionsAccepts other duties as assigned Strengths:Organizes time effectively and is selfdirectedAbility to collect and synthesize data effectively and implement the next steps/results of the dataExhibits patience courtesy and tact when dealing with colleaguesMaintains appropriate confidentiality at all levels Positively accepts and responds to feedback and new learning situations Demonstrates knowledge of gradelevel content and strong ageappropriate pedagogical skills Possesses experience working with a variety of student groups (Title I ELL Special Needs) across grade levels Experience/qualifications:Masters degree preferredMA Department of Education Elementary Teacher Licensure required5 years of teaching experienceExperience working with and leading educators/adult learnersExperience with and a deep understanding of MTSSExperience with culturally proficient teaching practicesExtensive training in elementary pedagogy and datadriven instructionKnowledge of appropriate interventions at Tier 1 Tier 2 and Tier 3 levels
