S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate ourmaintenance functions. As a maintenance technician youll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations in support of our diverse teams this job you will perform various construction and installation tasks on continuous improvement and repair/maintenance projects as assigned by your leadership team Facilities Engineering & Maintenance or their designate. You will work closely with various Product Divisions Support Organizations contractors consultants and other Facilities personnel. Tasks include measuring working from ladders dismantling equipment reading and interpreting drawings disconnecting and reconnecting equipment cutting bending installing/dismantling of new and existing piping systems threading and assembling of piping properly terminating of piping valves and accessories troubleshooting and repair of facilities/process equipment anchoring of equipment and accessories to concrete floors and walls some rigging and movement of equipment both manually and with the use of a fork lift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reading layouts diagrams project commissioning documents and material lists with the ability to complete related assigned task.
- Handle the inspection repair installation modification and maintenance of HVAC HV AC etc. equipment.
- Assisting other Facilities personnel with engineering improvement construction task and daily work request.
- Exercising some judgment with making decisions on assigned projects or tasks.
- Use appropriate welding gases to produce quality welds and set up fixtures for a variety of welding assignments (Soft solder brazing silver solder etc..
- Fabrication installation and detailed assembly work as required and production rearrangements.
What youll Need To Succeed:
- 5 years of experience as an industrial technician with a foundation in HVAC equipment.
- EPA Certificate required
- Ability to read blueprints wiring diagrams or schematics.
- Experienced in Soldering (Soft solder brazing & silver soldering).
- Proficiency with refrigeration theory and the use of refrigerant gauges.
- Demonstrated ability to using a variety of hand/Power tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot a variety of mechanical problems related to facilities equipment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical operations.
Major Physical Demands:
- Standing Remaining in an upright position 75 of the time with intermittent walking and sitting.
- Lifting Frequent lifting of components ranging from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
- Walking Frequent walking short distances from job to job throughout the plant.
- Carrying Occasional carrying of equipment components or tools weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Pushing Occasional use of hand truck parts cart to move portable equipment a moderate distance.
- Pulling Occasional use of hand truck parts cart to move portable equipment a moderate distance.
- Bending Frequent bending required to perform job tasks.
- Reaching Frequent reaching to install and remove parts or assemblies from equipment.
- Handling Continuous handling of small hand tools power tools and equipment
