The opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic General Accountant Sub Saharan Africa to join our team. In this role you will be reporting to General Accounting Manager. You will be supporting overall financial statement preparation of the southern African countries by executing accurate and timely completion of accounting activities in compliance with internal guidelines and procedures and external regulatory requirements. You are responsible for monthly review of the financial results.

How youll make an impact

  • Reviewing Project results of backlog .
  • Preparing journal entry for certain costs.
  • Preparing Monthly Management Account (MA) pack.
  • Preparing Auditing file.
  • Performing extensive analyses of business performance/compile information and preparing reports in support of management decisionmaking.
  • Functional Controlling controlling budgeting cost control communication charging mechanisms tax compliance and business partnering with respective Function.
  • Supporting in reporting and closing processes; Monthly and quarterly closing activities
  • Preparing cost analysis estimates accruals reclassification; Ad hoc analysis and reporting
  • Monitoring performance indicators highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance
  • Working in close collaboration with local and senior leadership.

Your background

  • A post graduate degree in Accounting or Finance (or similar).
  • 3 5 years of experience in financial controlling/analysis; experience on advanced level in FP&A Operations will be an advantage.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail accuracy and the ability to multitask.
  • Proven analytical and organizational ability; effective problem identification and solution skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; high sense of ownership cando attitude and ability to influence others.
  • Good know how of the SAP FI/CO module.
  • Solid know how of general accounting and reporting processes.
  • Capability to analyze complex financial data.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
