As the Educational Programs Training Specialist you are a member of the staff training team. You are responsible for coordinating tracking and delivering mandatory staff training for Educational Programs. Under the supervision of the Director of Program Improvement or Project Manager for Training and Professional Development the Training Specialist will lead staff training sessions manage training logistics and coordinate accurate record keeping using various online portals and electronic communication modes. Training Specialists support and provide training in areas including but not limited to restraint safety and crisis prevention safe use of campus vehicles and CPR/First Aid. Additional duties will include administrative support for training records and Educational Programs projects.
Essential Duties Responsibilities and Expectations include the following:
Flex schedule to provide evening and weekend training sessions as needed.
Lead staff training sessions including maintaining consistent and accurate presentation of material with appropriate pacing speaking in front of a group demonstrating physical skills through role play scenarios responding to challenging questions in a respectful manner and assessing learners mastery of the material.
Teach to current curriculum plans and pacing guides
Manage training logistics including maintaining the training schedule booking locations for training ordering refreshments training materials etc.
Collaborate with various departments to update training materials and assist in the development of alternative modes of training in a variety of delivery formats as needed
Provide appropriate training accommodations when requested
Provide timely and coherent responses in addressing urgent training for specific issues.
Maintain accurate and timely records using various online platforms and data portals.
Manage pre training information using Google calendar emails and online learning platforms etc.
Provide technical assistance in registering people in courses
Manage accurate certificates for completed courses.
Maintain all training materials (physical and electronic versions) and posted informational material.
Collaborate and communicate with external providers to schedule staff training
Monitor and assess staff training needs through consistent student observation
Maintain relevant trainer certifications (Example Safety Care Trainer Certification Carseat Quality Certification etc.
Collaborate with various departments to coordinate new staff training.
Monitor and communicate with staff and supervisors about upcoming training expiration dates and available training opportunities.
Proactively work with other trainers to provide converge for trainer absences.
Initiate and host collaborative meetings among campus trainers as needed
Assist in maintaining current information regarding training requirements from the Department of Education Department of Health Department of Mental Health Office of Child Care Services and other regulatory agencies.
Assist in planning organizing and conducting fire evacuation and lockdown drills.
Participate on campus wide committees as assigned..
Provide administrative support of Ed. Programs projects as appropriate
Perform other duties as assigned

Familiarity with and ability to navigate spreadsheets docs and databases including Google Suite Microsoft Suite and internal performance management software.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelors degree from college or university preferred; 2 years crisis prevention and physical intervention experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with in a school setting preferred.
Physical Demands
Generally the essential functions performed are typical in a school environment and involves work with Special Needs students requiring lifting or exertion of up to 70 lbs. of force occasionally.
