We are seeking an experienced and dedicated leader to join our team in the role of District Curriculum OverviewThe Curriculum Director will oversee the development implementation and assessment of the districts curriculum instructional practices and assessment programs. This is a critical leadership position in the district and will require a dynamic visionary leader who is committed to improving educational outcomes for all students and supporting teachers and staff to achieve their full potential. This role is central to ensuring that the Hartford School District maintains its reputation for excellence and continued ResponsibilitiesThe Curriculum Director will be responsible for the following:Curriculum Development & ImplementationCoordinate the development implementation and assessment of the districts PK12 curriculum to ensure vertical and horizontal alignmentOversee curriculum auditing and the identification of gaps or areas needing improvement for continuous curricular refinement that is also aligned to our Vision of a Graduate and our Ends PoliciesFacilitate the development and of the districts school improvement plans with a focus on enhancing instructional effectivenessInstructional Support & TrainingSupport school principals and instructional leaders in providing highquality training and professional development for teaching and support staff including overseeing the New Teacher Orientation program and Mentoring ProgramCoordinate and facilitate instructional coaches to ensure ongoing professional growth and the integration of best practices across all grade levelsLead the coordination of districtwide professional development programs to ensure alignment with district goals and current educational needsAssessment Program OversightFacilitate and manage the districts comprehensive assessment program ensuring it aligns with local Ends policies state and national assessments and the districts goals for student achievementEffective use of data in decisionmaking including the management and coordination of the districts data programs (Forefront and EduClimber) and collaboration with the Data AdministratorGrant Management & Federal ProgramsDevelop and oversee the districts annual federal grant program ensuring all supplemental student services in reading writing and math are supported and appropriately allocatedEnsure compliance with federal state and local regulations regarding grants reporting and programmingData & ReportingSupervise the preparation and timely submission of statistical data and financial reports to local state and federal agencies ensuring accuracy and compliance with all reporting requirementsAnalyze data trends to inform decisionmaking and improve educational practices and student outcomesCollaborative LeadershipWork closely with the Superintendent Principals and the Director of Special Education to ensure alignment across the districts educational and support servicesLead and coordinate districtwide committees and working groups focused on curriculum development instructional practices and school improvementQualificationsThe ideal candidate will have:A Masters degree in Education Educational Leadership Curriculum and Instruction or a related field A valid administrative certification or equivalentAt least 5 years of experience in educational leadership with a proven track record in curriculum development and instructional supervisionIndepth knowledge of curriculum design assessment practices and educational programming PK12Experience with federal and state grant programs as well as specialized student servicesStrong understanding of data management and analysis including familiarity with data platforms such as Forefront and/or EduClimberExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of educators administrators and community stakeholdersStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectivelyDesired Skills & AttributesA commitment to fostering a culture of diversity equity and inclusion within the districtAbility to lead with a collaborative studentcentered approachExperience with the vertical and horizontal alignment of curriculum and ensuring coherence across grade levels and content areasProven ability to design and implement professional development programs that enhance instructional practicesVisionary leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others toward achieving districtwide goalsWhy Join UsHartford School District is committed to providing a supportive inclusive environment for both students and staff.
