Position OverviewOnline section leaders work directly with and for the faculty member who is the instructor of record. Consequently they are not responsible for the determination of the structure of the course nor setting course coverage nor the preparation of course material.
Online Section Leaders are parttime temporary staff appointments. Position is not benefits eligible. FTE is determined by course load. The position is designated as oncampus. Alternative and flexible work schedules will be evaluated as per KU and School guidelines. Any position designated as fully remote must be approved by HR.
Instructional areas may include: Accounting Information Systems Finance Statistics Economics Supply Chain Management Human Resources Management Marketing Business Law Ethics International Business Strategic Management and Leadership. Applicants should indicate preference for instructional area in cover letter and complete supplemental question section of application.
Applications will be reviewed and placed in a pool to be considered for open positions as needed. Applications will be accepted throughout the year. Appointment length is reflective of the corresponding courses timeline. Appointments may be renewed multiple times. The successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins. Any employment with the University of Kansas is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check.
