Job Description
Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the fullcycle accounting process for mixeduse commercial properties including retail and office assets.
- Lead and manage a team of accountants providing guidance training and performance evaluations.
- Prepare and analyze monthly quarterly and annual financial statements ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and industry standards.
- Maintain the general ledger reconcile accounts and manage accruals prepaid expenses and fixed assets.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets and financial forecasts for the property portfolio.
- Collaborate with property managers and asset managers to provide financial insights and support decisionmaking.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations audits and lender reporting requirements.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Work with external auditors tax consultants and other stakeholders as needed
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior accounting staff fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- CPA CMA or equivalent certification is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience is required preferably in real estate commercial property management or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP lease accounting and real estate finances is essential reporting.
- Experience with accounting software such as Yardi MRI or similar property management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
- Strong analytical organizational and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with crossfunctional teams tenants and stakeholders.
- Detailoriented with a high level of accuracy and accountability.
