Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

As a Manufacturing Planner youll play a key role in translating customer demand into a realistic and efficient production plan. Working closely with our Engineering and Manufacturing teams youll balance material availability capacity and lead times to ensure we meet deadlines and maintain quality. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problemsolving thrives on organisation and likes working in a fastmoving environment where your input really matters.


ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop maintain and communicate detailed production schedules across our manufacturing in line with customer demand and capacity constraints.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Engineering to plan manufacturing around forecasts order book changes and new product introductions.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely availability of materials and resolve any delivery or quality issues impacting production.
  • Work closely with the Procurement Assistant to align planning with purchasing timelines and minimise shortages or overstocking.
  • Coordinate stock control and oversee inventory levels ensuring accuracy and availability for planned work.
  • Track and adjust planning based on production feedback material delays or engineering changes.
  • Monitor and report on key metrics such as schedule adherence lead times and capacity utilisation.
  • Lead daily or weekly planning meetings with relevant departments to communicate production priorities and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Support process improvement initiatives aimed at improving manufacturing efficiency and reducing waste.
  • Step in as acting supervisor during the Manufacturing Managers absence ensuring daytoday operations and team management continue without disruption.


KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in a production or manufacturing planning role.
  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and planning software.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments and with external suppliers.
  • Confident with data analysis reporting and decisionmaking based on planning metrics.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes and maintain production continuity.
  • Experience in supervising or leading teams is a strong advantage.
  • Organised handson and able to juggle multiple priorities.
