Job Description

Manufacturing Planner (Associate or Mid-Level)

The Space Launch System (SLS) team is seeking highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Planners to join our team in New Orleans LA.

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including associate and mid-level planners.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing processes manufacturing planning and production optimization. This role involves working closely with manufacturing engineering quality and production teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective manufacturing planning of products while maintaining high quality standards.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop implement and optimize manufacturing processes and planning.

  • Collaborate with the manufacturing engineering team to review manufacturing build flows for planning producibility.

  • Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions.

  • Identify and resolve manufacturing issues to improve product quality and production efficiency.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste improve cycle times and enhance overall manufacturing performance.

  • Ensure compliance with safety quality and regulatory standards.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 2 years of experience in manufacturing planning & production support

  • Experience in CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools

  • Excellent problem-solving communication and project management skills

  • Experience reading interpreting and enforcing standardized manufacturing processes work instructions and engineering drawing and process procedures

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing planning & production support

  • STEM focused Associate and/or Bachelors Degree

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Competent in Full-Size Determinate Assembly builds

  • Competent in Model-Based Design

  • Competent in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing

  • Competent in MESci

  • Competent in PTC Creo modeling or other CAD software suites

NASA Access:

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

Summary pay range mid-level (level 3): $65450 - $88550

Safety Sensitive:

This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
