The purpose of this position is to support the Behavioral Health & Performance (BHP) group at NASAs Johnson Space Center as part of the work completed by KBRs Flight and Medical Operations Department. The BHP team develops and implements support resources to assist ISS and other spaceflight program astronauts and their families to successfully complete their missions. To this end the incumbent will be responsible for assisting with preflight preparation and training and inflight support services. The position will work with multiple internal Space Medicine and other JSC organizations to coordinate services requested during a space mission. The incumbent may also be required to assist with services related to the Behavioral Medicine activities for ISS exploration and commercial crew planning spaceflight analogs and other tasks required to prepare for next generation spaceflight operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical support for applied BHP projects and services within the Flight and Medical Operations Department specifically related to implementing crew and family support for International Space Station and other spaceflight programs.
Assist astronauts and their families prepare for and conduct their missions by implementing a wide range of psychological support services.
Assist providing postflight support services for crewmembers returning from their missions and their families as needed.
Provide crew and family support as required outside of the regular work hours such as evenings weekends and holidays. In support of this work incumbent will be scheduled in an oncall rotation with other Psychological Support Coordinators.
Coordinate as needed with the BHPs Family Support Office within the Astronaut Office to facilitate implementing psychological support services related to launches landing or other preflight and inflight activities.
Assist providing flight certification and processing for hardware flown for onorbit resources as needed
Perform administrative duties associated with these projects such as tracking logistical issues developing and maintaining schedules organizing meetings systems and subject matter experts gathering information coordinating crew and family support activities with international partners reviewing requirements or other documentation maintaining records and developing and maintaining requirement documents.
Integration with NASA customers mission managers flight surgeons flight controllers and a multidisciplinary team of personnel to effectively plan and execute psychological support services.
Contribute as needed to developing operations requirements for NASAs future spaceflight exploration and commercial crew missions.
Assist with other tasks as needed to ensure successful of BHPs deliverables for the NASA customer.
Provide weekly status reports of job activities to management.
Responsible for compliance with Safety Health and Environmental plan; must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the Companys safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.
Responsible for compliance with the Quality Assurance Plan policies and procedures.
Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance level as determined by the Company
Responsible for completing all assigned training.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
Bachelors degree in social science or biomedical areas and 2 years experience. Equivalent experience in lieu of bachelors degree will be considered.
DESIRED:
Prior experience with NASA Aerospace Military or similar operational organizations.
Prior experience working within a technical science & engineering environments.

REQUIRED:

Demonstrated interpersonal effectiveness and professionalism in working with others in a collaborative teamoriented environment.
Demonstrated experience in preparing documents such as procedures research/summary reports PPT briefings technical reports and project plans.
DESIRED:
Prior work with digital multimedia tools and applications working with audio video photos graphics etc.
