Head Mens Basketball Coach

Reporting to the Director of Athletics Head Mens Basketball Coach will have primary responsibility for leadership of all activities related to the academic athletic social and
spiritual success of Lipscomb Universitys mens basketball program. In building a successful program Head Coach is expected to attract equip train and help student athletes graduate successfully.

• Requires team work and cooperation with numerous individuals and groups
• Coach of mens intercollegiate basketball team
• Occasional coordination with womens basketball program and volleyball program
• Expected involvement in University Athletics initiatives
• Work with recruits other administrators coaches trainers areas of campus etc.
• Summer Basketball Camps Leadership and oversight of summer individual and team basketball camps

coaching philosophy. Given that mens basketball at the NCAA DI level is very competitive and requires student athletes who not only have the ability and desire to succeed but who also will thrive in Lipscombs academic and campus environment talent/personnel evaluation and recruiting ability are critical in this position. Demonstrated ability as a recruiter especially at a high level is preferred.

Recruiting:

Leading the recruitment of qualified studentathletes who are a fit for Lipscomb University through correspondence with student athletes identified as
prospects attendance at selected events for evaluation of prospects establishing positive relationships with coaches and others in mens basketball community in order to assist in evaluations use of rankings video and other means of determining basketball ability organizing and conducting recruiting visits as needed. All of this will be done in strict compliance with NCAA ASUN and Lipscomb University rules and regulations.

Operational duties:

To include scheduling (in conjunction with the AD) and travel arrangements for practices games and other mens basketball related events; ordering
of equipment and other items as needed for mens basketball; other operational or managerial responsibilities as needed. All of this will be done in strict compliance with
NCAA ASUN and Lipscomb University rules and regulations.

Coaching duties:

Practice planning organization and coaching; game planning ingame coaching; counseling studentathletes and promoting their academic civic and spiritual progress. All of this will be done in strict compliance with NCAA ASUN and Lipscomb University rules and regulations.

Fundraising and Promotion:

Assisting with promotion of attendance at and/or awareness of fundraising activities related to the mens basketball program Lipscomb University Athletics and Lipscomb University as a whole. Activities may include:

• participation in information gathering
• contacting parents and other potential donors
• meeting with potential donors or sponsors
• assisting Director of Athletics orother Development personnel with fundraising activities

Community Building Activities:

As directed by Director of Athletics Assoc. AD for External Affairs for Development assistance in directing Lipscomb University mens basketball involvement with individuals or partners on programimprovement projects and initiatives camp opportunities fundraising development and cultivation
opportunities for the University community awareness programming campus engagement and other opportunities as may arise that will benefit Lipscomb University Athletics and the University as a whole.
