Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic professional to join our team as a Packaging Technician in Whitby ON.
This is an onsite position.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the efficient completion of packaging floor activities in order to meet scheduled production deadlines.
- Ensure product quality meets the standards and applicable regulatory agencies including but not limited to the Health Products and Food Branch Inspectorate (HPFBI) United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and European Medicines Agency (EMEA).
- Perform work at various positions on the packaging line including capping cartoning packing shippers and palletizing in accordance with established standards and Good Manufacturing Practices requirements to meet production targets.
- Inspect packaged products for presence and correctness of lot number expiry date and general packaging appearance and completeness.
- Ensure line cleanliness practices procedures Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and packaging instructions are followed.
- Perform equipment set up and tear down duties. Maintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards.
- Follow all Environmental Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Perform alternating or rotating shift work.
Qualifications:
- Minimum High school diploma/General Educational Development (GED) Certificate is required.
- Ability to maintain records of activities as instructed.
- Maintain workspace in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Ability to stand walk stoop kneel crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift carry move) of light to medium weights of up to 40 pounds; arm hand and finger dexterity; visual acuity to operate equipment and read materials for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to sit reach with hands and arms talk and hear for prolonged periods of time.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office software applications.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices is an asset.
- Effective communication skills.
