You may work on a wide variety of critical business areas including:
- Unified Connectors Engineering team is responsible for integrating and optimizing the diverse payment methods businesses need to succeed in a global economy.
Merchants require a seamless way to access and integrate with local payment methods and thirdparty payment connectors to scale their businesses. Our team builds the APIs and infrastructure that enable businesses to process payments beyond traditional card networks while ensuring a reliable performant and scalable payment experience
- Local Payment Methods We are dedicated to optimizing payment experiences globally. As we are expanding our portfolio of local payment methods we are also ensuring seamless transactions tailored to regional preferences. LPM Engineering is the first team under Stripes Payments umbrella to establish a presence in the new Bucharest Romania site part of a phased expansion of the entire groups presence here. You will have a unique opportunity to be part of a team that helps the unlocking of new markets and empowers businesses worldwide.

What youll do
You will work on projects that span technologies systems and processes where you will design build test and ship great code every day.
Responsibilities
- Build a great customer experience for internal and external Stripe teams using our infrastructure
- Participate in roadmap planning and prioritization
- Deliver value through a strong collaborative approach with multiple customers and stakeholders across Stripe
- Debug production issues across services and several levels of the stack.
Who you are
Were looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus not a requirement.
Minimum Requirements
- Strong software engineering skills and a passion for one of the areas above.
- 3 years of professional handson software development experience able to write wellfactored algorithms and have experience with commonly used data structure and algorithms
- Handson experience contributing to or building large scale distributed systems
- Strong collaboration skills can work across work streams within your team and contribute to your peers success
- Customer obsession ability to articulate and represent customer experience in various forums to drive the right outcome
- Have the ability to thrive on a high level of autonomy responsibility and think of yourself as entrepreneurial
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to write high quality code (in programming languages like Python Java Go Javascript C# Go PHP Kotlin Ruby C)
Experience optimizing the end to end performance of distributed systems - Focuses on the needs of our users both internal and external
- Holds yourself and others to a high bar when working with production
