Position Overview:
The Permanent Supportive Housing Clinical Supervisor oversees the implementation and day to day operations of Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) services designed for Native American and Alaska Native adults and families experiencing homelessness most of whom have a disabling condition and a history of chronic homelessness. This position provides clinical supervision and oversight for QMHP and QMHA staff providing housing placement and longterm housing retention services in the community. The position is responsible for extensive collaboration with multiple NARA programs and partner agencies to ensure effective services and compliance with all grants and contracts. In addition this position is responsible for ensuring all PSH services incorporate an Integrated Care approach that focuses on cultural physical and emotional wellbeing. Approaches utilized by NARAs PSH programs include Assertive Engagement and Housing First principles. The PSH Clinical Supervisor works cooperatively with other program supervisors and managers to ensure consistent quality of services.
Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and clinical supervision for staff providing housing placement and longterm housing retention services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness with a focus on providing culturally specific services for Native Americans.
Accompany PSH staff in the field as needed to support staff and clients
Ensure Housing First TraumaInformed Care and Assertive Engagement principles are utilized in the delivery of services
Facilitate hiring orientation and training of new staff
Ensure compliance with grant and contract requirements including reports and service documentation; conduct regular reviews of paper charts and electronic records; collaborate with the Housing Operations Supervisor to ensure timely and thorough data collection and assist with regular reports as needed.
Ensure appropriate service data is maintained within multiple database systems including Centricity RPMS and HMIS.
Manage flexible client assistance funds; review fund requests for approvals to ensure appropriate use of funds and track spending of program funds.
Collaborate extensively with community partners property managers and other NARA programs to ensure positive relationships and access to resources for NARA clients
Work with the community to enlist support and feedback for the program
Provide clinical consultation to PSH staff working with persons experiencing behavioral health crises; provide crisis assessment management and intervention as needed
Keep detailed tracking sheet of program activities and caseloads.
Attend various regular staff program and community meetings as designated.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Masters degree in Social Work or related field required. Three years of paid experience in field of social services or behavioral health care.
Must meet eligibility requirements for a QMHPR at time of hire and complete credentialing as a QMHPR within three months of hire.
Two years in paid supervisory capacity desirable.
Knowledge and experience in providing Permanent Supportive Housing; understanding of Coordinated Entry systems.
Extensive knowledge of issues facing homeless adults Veterans and families and the impact of transitioning from homelessness to housing.
Experience working within the Native American/Alaska Native community is considered a plus.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and leadership abilities including ability to make sound decisions.
Strong organizational skills
Ability to train coach and mentor in a fieldbased environment.
Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients the community and other staff members.
Work collaboratively with clients other NARA staff team members and to always treat everyone with respect and dignity.
Ability to be flexible and work in an environment subject to ongoing change.
