Hours:Mornings and Afternoons (MF): 6:30AM 8:40AM and/or3:30 PM 6:00 PM
Position Criteria:
- High school education preferred but not required
- Previous experience with children preferred
Performance Criteria:
- Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the Onsite supervisor
- Assist the Onsite supervisor in devising strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on a sympathetic understanding of individual students their needs interests and abilities
- Operate and care for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes
- Distribute and collect workbooks papers and other materials for instruction
- Guide independent work enrichment work and remedial work set up and assigned by the Onsite supervisor
- Assist with the supervision of the students during emergency drills play periods and field trips
- Keep bulletin boards and other classroom displays uptodate
- Assist with such large group activities as drill work reading aloud and storytelling
- Read to students listen to students read and participate in such other forms of oral communication with students
- Check notebooks corrects papers and supervise testing and makeup work as assigned by the Onsite supervisor
- Assist with lunch snack and cleanup routines
- Assist with washup and toilet routines
- Serve as the chief source of information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the regular teacher
- Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers
- Participate in inservice training as assigned
- Perform other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the Board
