Reporting to the Data Lead for Custody and Transactions

Responsibilities:

This is a new role in Northern Trust to act as an on the ground active investigator for longrunning or major data quality issues. This is a role that requires analysis as well as leading conversations with various teams in order to ensure collaboration and that fixes are completed.

  • Define ownership and stewardship from business process / business capability perspective using latest business capability mapping
  • Identifying business data owners for the CDEs from the business processes owners
  • Advising and assisting Settlements and Transactions Business Domain staff in data cataloging and lineage of CDEs in Collibra.
  • Data transformations documented for CDEs including ownership / responsibilities around those transformations with an eye to how this will be monitored / maintained in BAU.
  • Data Quality requirements for producers and consumers of CDEs of legacy applications are documents and owned across the business domain with an eye to how this will be monitored / maintained in BAU.
  • Ensure prioritized issues from the Data Quality Escalation Forum are investigated for root cause analysis that fixes are owned and implemented on an ongoing basis
  • Work closely with Settlements & Transactions Data Product Owner on legacy process issues uncovered for different data products.
  • Investigate data related issues (from the DQ Escalation Forum or from S&T Data Product Owner) with Operational staff uncovering process / control issues making recommendations on the action plan to remediate the issues and then ensuring that this is completed in the agreed timescales.

Requirements:

  • Senior BA experience with complex data environments where quite a lot of investigation and analysis is constantly required. Ability to handle running into roadblocks and moving around them. Also excellent process and issue documentation is required.
  • Experience with taking issue management from identification to completion having to work with multiple teams over time is required
  • Financial Services experience in Operations required
  • Excellent SQL querying is required
  • Experience with Agile
  • Familiarity with DCAM framework.
  • Ability to work to priority list and tight schedules
  • Ability to propose solutions to both business and IT
  • Good interpersonal skills with the business.
  • Experience with Alteryx is a plus.
  • Experience with Collibra is a plus.

Salary Range:

$USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay.
