GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Zero Suicide Intake Coordinator serves as the point of contact for issues related to program management and of Zero Suicide services within MHMRCV. The Coordinator will be assisting in the daytoday operations of the Zero Suicide Initiative including intake/assessment counseling when clinically indicated and other duties as assigned surrounding the success of the Zero Suicide initiative. The Coordinator will provide communitybased mental health services for individuals experiencing suicidal thinking/impulses overwhelming depression or another mental health crisis related to safety. The Coordinator will be trained in and provide evidencebased therapy as well as psychoeducation within their scope of training and expertise. The Coordinator will maintain a caseload of individuals served. Data collection and reporting is required and strong organizational skills is a necessity.

The Zero Suicide Intake Coordinator will create and maintain a safe calm and secure environment with supportive care a systemwide understanding of trauma prevalence and impact recovery and traumaspecific services and recoveryfocused consumerdriven services that applies to all staff volunteers contracted providers and designed collaborative organizations. The Coordinator will report administratively to the Centers Zero Suicide Coordinator and will implement the principles of traumainformed care including cultural sensitivity in all areas of service delivery.

No cost clinical LPCI supervision is provided for this position. MHMRCV provides professional liability insurance.

EDUCATION TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

Graduate or doctoral degree in a clinically relevant discipline with related current Texas licensure as a licensed professional counselor intern (LPC Intern) licensed psychological associate (LPA) licensed master social worker (LMSW) pursuing an LCSW licensed marriage and family therapist intern (LMFTAssociate) or provisionally licensed clinical psychologist (PhD or PsyD). No counseling experience is required but Coordinator will pursue certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy offered by the Center.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:Valid Texas drivers license and must be insurable on the Centers insurance. No more than 3 moving violation in the last 3 years.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:Experience in mental health services and knowledge about community resources and social services is preferred. Training in suicide prevention and crisis intervention (upon hire). Ability to work in a rapid pace environment in an organized and professional manner. Ability to selfmonitor production and quality with minimal assistance. Proficient in the use of electronic data systems including electronic health records and business software such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to develop productive relationship with individuals and family members that focus on individual specific outcomes. Ability to recognize barriers and coordination issues between service systems and to advocate effectively for individuals served. Organization and typing skills are a must. The ability to work as a team member in a diverse environment interfacing with both internal and external customers. Experience with tracking data and timely data reporting is preferred.

Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.

  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to complete all MHMR Concho Valley training.

The names of all prospective employees are cleared through the Texas Department of Public Safety to determine the existence of such records. For insurance purposes driving records will be checked on all employees that are required to drive as stated in their position description. If an employee is determined to be uninsurable employment may be dismissed.
