Description

The MedicalIntakeCoordinator is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the medical portion of the offenderintakeprocess at Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that all medical screenings documentation and assessments are completed efficiently and accurately serving as a liaison betweenintakenursing staff providers mental health and operations teams. This is a non-clinical role that requires strong organizational communication and administrative skills with prior healthcare-related experience.

Position information:

  • Georgia Diagnostics and Classification Prison - Jackson GA.
  • Pay rate: $22.00-$25 an hour
  • Shift: Monday-Friday (Flexibility may be needed based onintakevolume and operational demands)

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the daily medicalintakeflow of incoming inmates to ensure timely completion of screenings TB testing and initial assessments.
  • Monitor and track all required medicalintakesteps (e.g. 24-hour screenings 7-day assessments lab work medication reconciliation etc.).
  • Communicate and collaborate with nursing providers mental health and custody staff to ensure smooth progression through theintakeprocess.
  • Oversee the accuracy and completeness of medical documentation including review and upload of records into the EHR (TechCare).
  • Assist with identifying high-priority or urgent medical cases and escalating them to appropriate clinical staff.
  • Manageintaketracking logs checklists and dashboards to ensure compliance with GDC requirements and Centurion standards.
  • Support theintaketeam with non-clinical duties such as preparing paperwork scheduling appointments tracking labs or diagnostics and data entry.
  • Help train new staff onintakeworkflow and serve as a resource forintake-related processes.
  • Participate in audits CQI initiatives and staff meetings related tointakeperformance or process improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Education:High school diploma or GED required; Experience in healthcare administration medical office technology public health or related field preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical correctional or clinical operations environment required.
  • Prior experience inintakecoordination patient scheduling medical records or EHR systems highly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable navigating electronic health records (EHR); TechCare experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks manage timelines and follow through independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams.
  • High attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in documentation and compliance.
  • Must be comfortable working in a correctional facility environment and adhere to all safety and security protocols.
