Job Description
GAI Consultants is seeking an CAD Operator 2 for support of Substation projects. This position requires working with engineering and other technical subject matter experts in all aspects of electrical substation and protections & controls design services. The successful candidate will perform CAD work of redlined engineering markups for various substations and/or protection and control engineering projects as well as project support working under engineering in GAIs corporate culture that empowers employee advancement with support for career and professional development and engages with staff to build mutual trust and respect and consideration for diverse perspectives people experiences and ideas.
Job Duties:
- Opening revising plotting and saving of drawing CAD files.
- Assist in compiling collating assembling and verifying completeness of drawing and project document packages.
- Knowledge of plot profiles and user profiles in CAD package.
- Advanced ISO view and 3D view drawing depictions.
- Assist CAD technicians and CAD operators in the development of their skills as required.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling and/or intelligent design software (BIM) experience preferred.
- Ability to learn multiple software platforms including but not limited to advanced 3D modeling and intelligent design software.
- Attending projectspecific meetings as required.
- Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and be able to work effectively under the pressure of deadlines and unexpected developments.
- Ability to work extended hours or after hours when required.
- Learning and helping to find ways to improve GAI Engineering CAD Standards.
- Effective communication with the project team

Corrects errors beforesubmitting work to others for review. Demonstrates ability to work concurrently withnumerous project and personnel
Minimum Years of Experience
- 6 Years of Experience
Education
- Associate Degree from an accredited Technical School orequivalent experience
Technical Responsibilities
- Able to complete complex analyses and presentations. Reviews finished products for compliance with company standards and procedures. Assists with CAD checks and internal reviews
Management Responsibility
- Provides Significant oversight andmentoring to lowerlevel CArators
- Given general instructions andworks independently with minimal supervision. Receives general review ofproject work
Communication Skills
- Possess excellent communication skills. Facilitates interaction between staff; able to effectively coach and mentor lowerlevel CAD Staff
