We are looking for an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Avionics) to support our Aerospace Research Centre. The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity Excellence Respect and Creativity.
Working for the NRC Aerospace Research Centre (NRCAERO) the incumbent will perform and ensure proper completion of applicable maintenance activities related to aircraft. This includes the installation inspection maintenance and repair of aircraft avionics and electrical systems. He/she will troubleshoot and rectify applicable aircraft system defects using standard or specialized test equipment as well as ensure aircraft documentation is complete and accurate.
The incumbent will also carry out duties as per the appropriate maintenance control manual and ensure conformity to Transport Canada regulatory standards. As required the incumbent will assist the Aircraft Crew Chief in preparing aircraft for research flight operations adhere to the Safety Management System Policy provide training/guidance and oversight of the work of apprentices and accompany FRL aircraft on field deployments as required by operational commitments.

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:
Graduation from a program of study at an accredited college meeting Transport Canada requirements for Aircraft Maintenance Engineer training in the avionics specialty.
Must hold an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) E or M licence issued by Transport Canada.
ICAO Type 2 Licence may also be accepted however a Transport Canada AME E or M Licence must be obtained within 12 months.
