Elementary Music Teacher
Good Shepherd School is recruiting for a fulltime Elementary Music Teacher for the 202526 school year with the potential of a permanent position if the candidate is successful. This fulltime position offers a unique opportunity to create a stimulating and enriching music program that fosters creativity musical literacy and a love of music in students of all backgrounds and abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement engaging music lessons for elementary students (Grades K6.
- Lead wholeclass instruction small group activities and individual instruction.
- Develop and present music theory concepts explore diverse musical genres and encourage student expression through singing and instrumental playing.
- Prepare students for performances and school concerts.
- Collaborate with other teachers and administrators to integrate music into the school curriculum.
- Nurture strong relationships with students parents and the school community.
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate (or eligible to apply).
- Bachelors degree in Music Education or related field.
- Experience teaching music in an elementary school setting (preferred).
- Proficiency in music theory instrumental playing (e.g. piano guitar) and vocal techniques.
- Strong communication interpersonal and classroom management skills.
