Custodial Services Coordinator
Schedule: Monday Friday 5:00am1:30pm
Location: Portland State Office Building 800 NE Oregon St)

What Youll Do
As the Custodial Services Coordinator youll plan organize and guide the daily work of custodial staff. Youll help make sure our buildings are clean safe and wellmaintained places where people want to work and visit. Youll also pitch in with handson cleaning when needed and work closely with both custodial staff and building tenants to solve problems and improve service.
A Day in the Life:
Assign daily cleaning tasks to your team
Check that buildings are clean and safe
Help clean when needed (sweeping mopping vacuuming restrooms etc.
Train new team members on safe cleaning practices
Keep track of cleaning supplies and order more when needed
Work with building staff to solve problems or handle requests
Respond to urgent cleaning needs or safety concerns
Youll start each day in our Portland building and may travel to other locations nearby.
Working Conditions
Youll be on your feet most of the shift walking or standing
Youll lift and move trash bins use vacuums and carts (up to 50 lbs)
Youll bend twist reach and sometimes climb ladders
Some outdoor work is requiredeven in bad weather
Youll use cleaning products and follow safety procedures (gear provided)
Shifts may vary depending on the assignment
Occasional work may be done at the State Police Forensics Lab. You may be exposed to materials used in forensic environmental or medical labs. This may include items that have come into contact with body fluids or materials from deceased individuals. While performing duties in these areas you will always be accompanied by trained forensic or medical staff and proper safety protocols will be followed.
What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
Two years of experience in custodial services work.
Special Qualifications:
You are required to possess and maintain a valid drivers license issued by the state where you reside.
Desired Attributes:
Experience leading a team or organizing work for others in a job setting.
Clear and professional communication in both writing and speaking.
Strong attention to detail and pride in doing highquality thorough work.
Ability to manage time well stay organized and meet daily deadlines.
Basic mechanical ability such as using and fixing custodial tools or equipment.
Understanding of safety practices including handling cleaning supplies safely.
Customer service experience especially helping people or solving complaints.
