Engineer Chennai
As an Infrastructure Administrator in Storage and Backup you will be responsible for Administration design and deployment of highly automated infrastructure solutions for all internal processes and technology. You will be expected to function as the mid level of technical support and Administration related issues incidents and initiatives when required and primarily be focused on projects that involve designing new methods to further streamline the environment. You will take the role of Storage & Backup Administrator and be responsible for endtoend solution implementation together with other Team Members and subject matter experts on the team.
The Storage & Backup Infrastructure Administrator should have sufficient knowledge experience working with SAN and NAS storage systems SAN Switch Administration networking fundamentals current security concepts as well as Windows and Linux Operating systems to effectively cooperate with Infrastructure Network and Security teams to deliver solutions on a wide scale covering all the infrastructure environment aspects. Should be well rounded in all data center technologies
Key Responsibilities
- Storage Allocation and Reclamation Storage Migration between devices Data Backup on Daily basis Backup Failures Configuration of Storage devices in the environment according to the need Keen Knowledge in Storage migration tools like Pure Replicator
- NetApp Storage Administration that includes NAS Volume Creation NFS/CIFS export Snapmirror replication Snapvault backup Snaprestore
- NetApp Storage Design which includes configure AD Domain Controller access and services to the cluster SVM Configuration and Networking Configuration in the NetApp Cluster
- Work with team members to analyze existing process flows to build and maintain endtoend automated processes within the infrastructure and surrounding systems
- Oversee IO performance of production along with development of databases LUNs
- Hands on automation of internal and technical processes and be responsible to meet project deadlines
- Develop and maintain records for entire storage as well as FC systems.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of new and existing automated workflow processes scripted procedures configurations settings and recovery plans
- Research and evaluate current and emerging technologies and stay informed of new technologies and solutions that increase productivity innovation and business capabilities
- Develop processes and procedures used to implement and manage BCV and NAS backups.
- Manage SnapMirror relationships troubleshooting replication job failures SnapVault and other archive solutions.
- Perform patching backups on multiple environments of Solaris Linux and VMware.
- Maintain and monitor backup operations reports update backup and disaster recovery contingency planning and procedures.
- Assist other team members with the system and infrastructurerelated issues when necessary
- Work closely with the scrum development and infrastructure operations teams to support the automation of the infrastructure
Qualifications :
- 5 years equivalent handson experience in infrastructure engineering and administration with specialized skills in Storage & Backup Administration developing scalable infrastructure platforms.
- Advanced knowledge navigating and troubleshooting current operating systems and platforms to include Cisco UCS VMware Citrix Windows and CentOS
- Have 3 year(s) of working with enterprise infrastructure automation platforms such as Powershell Python BASH etc. Certificate for any of the platform is a plus.
- Understand of DevOps process and Agile development cycle with Continuous Integration / Delivery (CI/CD). Experience with CI/CD platforms is a plus.
- Be flexible to hold and attend workshops; or perform remote site installation and configuration.
- Have good verbal communication skills (English) in both technical and nontechnical communications.
- Have good experience creating design documents diagrams (Visio) and presentations (PowerPoint)
- Have attitude to learn peer technologies in Infrastructure (IS) which includes VMWare Unix/Centos Administration Windows Administration Citrix Administration Monitoring Tools Automation technologies that includes Python Integration Modules Go language related technologies
